Location: Corby

Salary: Up to £32,000 DOE

We’re looking for a Machine Setter to join our clients manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy, supportive environment where you’ll help keep production lines running smoothly and producing high-quality products.

Role Overview – Machine Setter

As a Machine Setter, you’ll set up and run two or three production lines during your shift, making sure they meet our company’s targets for efficiency and quality. You’ll report to the Shift Leader and work closely with teammates like materials handlers, packers, and quality control staff. Your role is key to keeping our lines productive, maintaining equipment, and ensuring our products meet high standards. You will be required to work a Panama shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities – Machine Setter

  • Keep production lines running with minimal downtime, producing as many good-quality bottles as possible at standard or better speeds
  • Reduce waste by controlling bottle weights, minimising defects, and using regrind and additives efficiently.
  • Make sure all products meet quality standards, working with the quality team to spot and fix issues.
  • Look after tools and machines to keep them in good condition and report any problems.
  • Stick to all safety, hygiene, and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Complete clear and correct shift reports for your lines using our systems.
  • Cover extra shifts when needed to support the team.
  • Attend any training provided to improve your skills.
  • Cooperate with colleagues to achieve goals together.
  • Get lines back to producing good products as fast as possible during setups or downtime.

Key Experience & Qualifications – Machine Setter

  • Experience or desire of running production lines, ideally with blow moulding machines, and keeping defects low.
  • Ability to manage materials to reduce waste and control costs.
  • Attention to detail to ensure products meet standards.
  • Quick thinking to fix issues and keep lines running.
  • Good communication and a willingness to help others
  • Ready to cover extra shifts when needed.
  • Able to complete accurate shift reports.
  • Commitment to following safety and hygiene rules.
  • Drive to learn new skills
