Omega are supporting a leading fire protection contractor in the recruitment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of mechanical fire protection, gas suppression, and fire detection projects across the UK. The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing project costs, preparing valuations, assessing subcontractor applications, and ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. They will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to maintain commercial control, manage variations, and ensure projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements.

Job offers subject to security screening, DBS Enhanced and PNC checks.

 

 

Key Responsibilities - Quantity Surveyor

  • Provide commercial support to project teams throughout all project stages.
  • Review terms and conditions during the tender phase to identify risks and commercial considerations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly progress valuations for live projects.
  • Produce timely and well-documented variation submissions.
  • Monitor site progress closely and record any delay events or commercial impacts.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings, representing the commercial function professionally

 

Qualifications & Requirements - Quantity Surveyor

  • Previous experience within construction services experience is essential
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex commercial and technical data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organisational capabilities
  • Knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and commercial practices
  • Full clean UK driving licence
