Role: SEMA Qualified Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager

Location: National (UK) - Field Based

Contract: Permanent

Omega are supporting a growing UK business in their search for a SEMA Qualified Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager. This is a national role delivering high-quality racking inspections (including mezzanine structures), remedial repairs, and load notices across the UK. Currently, this service is delivered through sub-contractors; however, you will be responsible for bringing this service in-house and building a new racking division.

The successful candidate will play a key part in raising the standard of racking services through excellent customer service and professional reporting. Already servicing over 200 sites, there is significant opportunity to grow this service offering across their wide portfolio of clients where they already provide Facilities Management maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities - Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager

 

  • Conduct SEMA standard racking inspections (including mezzanine floors) and produce detailed, high-quality reports
  • Carry out and oversee remedial repair works on racking systems
  • Issue and manage load notices in line with current regulations
  • Input inspection and repair data into the CAFM/CMMS/online work logging system
  • Train and develop internal staff in racking inspection and remedial techniques
  • Recruit, build and lead a team of racking inspectors and remedial repair engineers
  • Establish processes, quality standards and documentation for the racking service
  • Focus on delivering exceptional customer service and changing the perception of racking maintenance through professionalism and reliability
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, SEMA guidelines and industry regulations
  • Manage national scheduling and delivery of inspection and repair works

Requirements - Racking Remedial and Inspection Manager

Essential:

  • Fully SEMA qualified in racking inspection
  • Proven hands-on experience in racking inspections and remedial repairs
  • Experience of inspecting mezzanine structures
  • Experience of inputting data into a CAFM/CMMS/online work logging system
  • Strong knowledge of racking systems, safe working loads and industry standards
  • Experience training and mentoring others
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently on a national basis

Desirable:

  • Previous experience building or leading a team
  • Background in warehouse, storage or materials handling sectors
  • Commercial awareness and strong customer-facing skills
